GPA Fuel Pump Installation / Diagram
Quick Install Guide – In-Tank Pump Module
-
1. Measure Tank Depth: Use a ruler through the 2-1/8" opening to determine tank depth (D).
-
Supply Length: D – P
-
Return Length: D – 1" (or D – 1-5/8" for GPA-5/6/8/9)
-
-
2. Trim Tubes: Cut Supply (S) and Return (R) tubes to the lengths above. Align the filter sock with the reservoir tray.
-
3. Attach Supply Line: Slide on hose clamps (don’t tighten). Warm the supply hose, press straight onto the pump outlet. (Do not remove white sleeve on GPA-2/4/TBI models.)
-
4. Secure Pump: Rotate pump to rest against Return Line. Tighten clamps and secure with two cable ties.
-
5. Wire Harness: Connect securely, route through pass-through fitting with slack. Tighten jam nut gently with a 9mm wrench until sealed. Do not overtighten.
-
6. Wiring: Red = Power, Black = Ground.
-
7. Access Panel: Consider adding a floor access panel for future service.
-
8. Seal Gasket: Use Permatex #85420 on gasket and screws. Torque to ½ ft-lb with TANKS INC hardware.
-
9. Do Not Run Pump Dry.
-
10. Fittings: All are ¼” NPT – use fuel-safe thread sealant.
-
11. Venting: Use supplied 5/16” barbed vent fitting with a carbon canister or Tanks VVR for EFI systems.
